Clothing a Gardener

Another aspect of the experimental nature of our project is to create our gardens while also wearing period accurate clothing. For Kristen and I this means medieval clothes and shoes. Lace front Kirtles were the most common form of dress for peasant women right through the Middle Ages. Aprons were worn to protect clothes from dirt and damage, while hair was wrapped up and covered for both religious and practical reasons.
